Morning Members

Today we are at Kyneton and Oaks day live on-course at Pakenham, NOT Flemington!

Will also pass on the Friday night meetings for the time being.

Flemington can stick their track!

Country racing will get us back in the winner circle after the debacle of Flemington racing where I have never seen it so bad in 40 years.

You virtually had no chance of winner on a track that favoured the horses close to fence and in front.

It must have been 3-4 lengths faster than elsewhere and combinations at any prices have got up over the 2 meetings.

It really took me back to pre-fitness rating years of punting over 20 years ago and how hard it was to win.

If I had not of done this fitness research, I am sure I would not be backing horses.

Melbourne Cup.

I believe that the system of coming over here from around the world; for a hit and run will be reviewed by some trainers.

Horse are more fitter today with ratings going through the roof and trying to win first up over 3200, or 2nd up a harder task.

Trip to Paris, Fame Game never came on in fitness from their Caulfield Cup efforts, others 1st up were not fit enough.

Preferment got flattened going for a mid-field run 400 out, should of went wide!

He will keep for another day.

Congratulations to the winner, a great story all round for trainer Darren Weir and the Payne family.

Regards

Jim
