Nice work today at Kyneton for members, where we got 9/9 and best on top was a $20 winner.

Plenty of exotics in and bit stiff on one as had the winner on top, and included a horse @ $70

and ran a great 2^nd $9.40 a place, damn another roughie got up and spoilt our Pick 4.

It paid $21,000

The mongrel ride of the day surely has to go the Harry Coffey on 98% fit Black Sheep.

Settled back nicely and hooked wide on the home turn all bar one horse wider.

Hello here is trouble.


Sure enough stayed inside the 2nd last horse for 150 metres and could get a run.

So then pulls back and wide of that horse, which he should of done entering the straight and storms

home beaten about 1-1/2 length when he lost about 4 lengths at the top of the straight

for being so dumb.


Thats my gripe for the day.

bigger edge to win more.

Good morning Matt,

As most of our 1-2 horses consistently run a place, yesterday in some races I called only two horses on top

and our betting strategy tips was E-Dutch those two runners.

Now Dutch betting is where you bet 1-2-3 horses to win to show a profit.

My strategy is different for E-Dutch (Exotic Dutch) to work 1 horse, then the other horse in exotics.

If they both come in, you collect twice AND IS SIMPLE BETTING.

The advantage of this is bigger dividends for less outlays.

A great example yesterday Race 6:

e-dutch bet:

97%  5-1

96%  14-6-12-7-8

That is what happy members did.

Result:  14-5-1-12

·       Quinella          $17

·       Exacta             $32

·       Trifecta          $142

·       Pick 4             $2134

·       Dividends     $2,334

Not only was the right strategy called, but I also “rated in fitness the 12 @ $32” and left out unfit the

favourite Love and Lies, whom is still running.

So now members will save on their outlays and get bigger dividends.

The method is pretty simple. Use the following formula to determine bet size.

Bet Size = 100 / (win odds + 1) So for the following 3 selections your position is

A 3/1 100/(3+1) = 100/4 = $25
B 4/1 100/(4+1) = 100/5 = $20
C 9/1 100/(9+1) = 100/10= $10
Total Outlay $55

A couple of points to note:

1. Some people prefer to set their own markets and only take those horses where the available odds are better than your market. When setting your own market the percentages should add up to be less than 100 to ensure you are giving yourself profitable prices.

2. Dont adjust (reduce) your stakes simply because a horse is available at better odds. Thus if you price a horse at 4/1 ($20) and you get 6/1, then the $20 returns $140. This $40 extra represents your overlay and can be a huge boost to your bank occassionally when the odds are far over your wanted price. Andrew A
