I believe the trainer was right here, I rated the horse fit to run a reasonable race and not to finish last.
The horse would of had serious bruising after a kick like that and would of really felt it after a minute into the racing.
The trainer has a right to express his views.....Jim

Gelagotis guilty after heated inquiry
Manny Gelagotis will head to the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board after Racing Victoria stewards found him guilty of improper or insulting language towards an official in a fiery inquiry on Thursday.
Gelagotis and RV chief steward Terry Bailey at times screamed at each other during the heated hearing, which centred on comments made by the racing manager about the decision to let Mourinho run in the C.F. Orr Stakes despite being kicked behind the barriers.
Gelagotis, who works with his brother Peter, vehemently disagrees with the decision made by RV vet Dr Brian Stewart to pass Mourinho fit to run after being ‘double-barrelled’ by Fenway pre-race.
Mourinho finished 17th and the stewards reported post-race the gelding had swelling to his left flank.
After the race, it was revealed Mourinho’s jockey Vlad Duric and Dr Stewart thought he was fine to run, but rival jockeys Damien Oliver, Dwayne Dunn and Craig Newitt disagreed, calling the kick ‘full-bloode
