Race 7 will be interesting and the speed and blood count of Exoshere will tell me how far in front of Chautauqua it is and then the factor of strength of Chautauqua over the last 200 to run it down will be critical.

If Chautauqua is big and strong and Exoshere has a low blook count which will slow it down over the last 200, Chautauqua will win, if

Exoshere has a 100% blood count it will keep running hard and if Chautauqua is too much on the lean side, possible from too much track work it will not run down Exoshere.

Strength factors down, it had done too much work on the training track and that is why it never finished like a train, no the trainer got it wrong and preached to punters 100% fit and get on, they lost 100's of thousands of dollars on his information, but 28.8 was right on the button.

That is a poll for the 7 horses in the Lightning.

Chautauqua fell away in strength factors towards the end of his last campaign and went bad, because of bad management by the trainer.

Interesting to see if as strong this time around early again, if not he will not finish with his usual burst of brilliance.

Trainer Paul Messara said he doesn't expect hyped two-year-old Weatherly to repeat his poor start on debut, when he steps out in Saturday's Listed International Race Clubs Talindert Stakes (1100m).

Weatherly's preparation was disrupted when scratched from the Blue Diamond Prelude last Saturday due to having mucus down his throat but it was ‘nothing serious’ according to Messara.

But the one-week delay for his second-up run all-but rules out a Blue Diamond Stakes bid Saturday week, even if he performs well at Flemington on Saturday.

One thing is for sure, though - Messara is adamant the Beneteau colt won't bungle the start like he did in the Blue Diamond Preview.

"He had taken benefit from that first-up run," Messara told Racing.com's Racing Ahead on RSN.
